Watch Out Rancho Cucamonga - George Jones Is Still At Large

Updated: Jun 3

If anything has me making a decision to either wait out the agent query process or simply sel-publish, it's the likelihood of an actual bullet train from Vegas to LA, an invented plot device for Gone To Ground now set to actually break ground. The interloping tortoises will no longer have their consequential moment, and Tasha won't have the moment of delivering Jones his comeuppance. $400 round trip sounds like a loser (read the article here https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-04-23/la-to-vegas-high-speed-train-breaks-ground), but it seems inevitable that high speed rail will start appearing around the state and no better place to start than in the desert.

Work on the next novel is still mostly research though I can tell you Javier has taken his profound loss in GTG to motivate his pursuit of white collar criminals - either with the FBI or SEC. Betzaida will be a larger thread in this novel, still driving Delilah though suddenly pulled into her past with the sudden death of an old friend. Working title Law Of The River. Much of the plot will revolve around the politics and commodification of water rights on the Colorado.

Apparently the bullet train is not coming to the Shoe, but it should be a fun ride! https://www.latimes.com/travel/story/2024-09-17/socal...
