Got through the first door of an indie I am hopeful on. Been fueled by the news, though got dropped in one competition. Have hired some top shelf talent to help with the final (and I mean it this time) edit. Hopeful this guy might assist with the follow-up.
The ideas are populating in head for the next novel - I'm trying to keep some of the elements from GONE TO GROUND (like Betzaida and Mission Tow) in conjunction to making this one MICHAEL CLAYTON meets MARGIN CALL. Javier is an associate in Mergers and Acquisitions with some nameless private equity juggernaut. The first hook will be his phone upgrade - he gets a new phone though it still has the previous user's ID which he needs to install his apps. Turns out the previous user is dead or will be soon - and on her cloud space, she has a folder that contains a report which can sink a deal the firm relies on.
Watched THE GRAB which has seeded this stage, though still feeling frustrated all the threads aren't there.
